Christmas

Christmas was great this year.  We made the trek to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to meet up with Eric's mom and siblings and families.  All the families plus the other guests made for a very full house.  There was a lot of running around and fun for Christmas.  We cut a tree down had Christmas dinner and enjoyed each other’s company.  It has been many years since we had all been together for Christmas.  The Victorian houses all decorated were beautiful and the biting cold added to the winter atmosphere

The School Year

When school started, Hannah (7th grade) joined the marching band and marched on the field for all the varsity football games.  This was a thrill for her and for us since we didn't really go to any of the games and now we were attending all of them and tailgating.  This was a huge year for the football team, they made it to the championships last year and this year we were on track to do the same.  The football team ended the season undefeated taking the Georgia State Championship.  This allowed Hannah and the band to march on the field and perform the half time show at the Georgia Dome where the Atlanta Falcons play.  At the end of the school year, Hannah received her varsity letter as a 7th grader and is one of very few in the middle school that gets to wear a letterman sweater.

The other thing the HS football team accomplished was that it played so well and was so decisive that the Georgia High School Association broke the playoffs up between the public schools and the private schools.  The year we won, two private schools made it to the playoffs.  This of course upset the public schools never mind that certain public schools will dominate the playoffs for years at a time while private schools tend not to.  Oh well whatever makes them feel better about themselves.  Our school will honor the decision and still play competitive ball.

Concerts

We traveled to a few concerts, and saw Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Hollywood Undead, Three Days Grace and many others.  Patrick got in his first crowd surf and of course got dropped the first time hurting his back a bit and then made it to the stage the second time.

Reboot the Blog!

Our Blog has sat dormant for over a year. We have got to be the most boring people in the world. No not really, we just got busy and I just haven’t taken the time to keep it updated. A lot has happened; we have been many places and done lots of fun things. I will try and refresh our status get everyone up to date and then reboot the blog so it stays current.

Annual Burning of the School Work

Once the report cards arrive, it is time to plan the annual burning of the notes.  Backpacks are cleaned out and all school work that doesn't need to be saved is burned.

The last weekend in January, we got a weekend of weather in the 70s. So nice that we headed to the park for some fun in the sun of Ultimate Frisbee and JoAnna and Patrick doing some TaeKwonDo. Diva even had a good time. Forsyth park was packed so we headed to Daffin Park and had lots of open space.
