Afternoon at the Beach

Patrick Hannah and I went to Tybee Island Sunday afternoon after church and tennis lessons. We went and walked out on the pier and watched the people fishing.

We walked to the end of the pier just as someone was was reeling in a stingray. It really upset all of us and couldn't bear to take pictures. Hannah got some video but then had to stop. the guy got it up to the beach and was able to release it but it was still cruel.
We actually talked to a family that had never seen one before other than in an aquarium. Both the kids got really excited and told them how cool they are to see in the wild and how big they can get. They explained snorkeling with them and watching them move along the bottom and that they are not terrifying like some make them out to be. They did a great job of being advocates for sea life. I was proud.

Tennis Time

Hannah Started tennis lessons after church on Sunday with some of the other kids from her school. She is really enjoying it and looks forward to going to the court whenever she can.
Below is a short clip from the first lesson.

A day on the town!

Patrick Hannah and I spent part of last Saturday in downtown Savannah at City Market. A bunch of high school jazz bands were supposed to perform so we went to go see them. Due to menacing weather, the event was moved, unfortunately they didn't post the move at the original location and we didn't find out until the next day. However, we had fun walking around City Market and the squares downtown eating ice cream and taking pictures.

Jump Rope for Heart

Hey everyone, Hannah is doing the Jump Rope for Heart this year in honor of her Papa Jim and Grandpa Ray who have both had to have heart surgery (ironically both while running). Anyway, if you would like to help out, follow the link below to her web site. If it doesn't work, copy and past it in the address line or go to the links section to the right and it is there also.

Easter

We had a great Easter. Church was a blast, JoAnna and Hanna danced and I sang. Patrick reserved seats for Nana and NanElizabeth. We did a Skype call to Oma (Eric's Grandmother) and Susan (Eric's Mom) in the USVI. The video was ok but the audio was pixalated. I have to play with some stuff and see if I can get it working better. You can see the dancing on the churches website at http://www.asburymemorial.com/ .

These pictures were taken in the courtyard at church in front of the living cross.

We try so hard to get a good picture of Diva and it just doesn't seen to show the real her. Diva turned 1 this month. Since it was Easter also and she Loves plastic Easter eggs, we put just a touch of peanut butter and other treats in eggs and watch her go nuts. She is like one of the kids.

Blue Belt & Recommended Black Belt

Well I am only a week or so behind so I will have a bunch of stuff to put up.

JoAnna caught unaware!

JoAnna received her blue belt during testing. She showed up to class the other day with a blue shirt on and her blue belt singing the song I'm Blue by Eiffel 65 so she is now called the
BLUE SMURF!

Patrick received his recommended black belt. He now attends the Black Belt classes and enjoys it because the kids there have worked hard and want to be there. He will test for his 1st Degree Black Belt soon.

Welcome Home

This is a little late, I had it in a draft and forgot to publish it.

If you read the blog in January there was a special edition that we posted for Chris Thelemann so he could see pictures of his family while he was serving in Africa. Chris has safely returned
home so we want to send out a big welcome home and hope it is for a long while.

Palm Sunday

Patrick was confirmed and baptised today at church.

Some of these pictures were taken by others at church.

He went through the confirmation class with six other kids. The four boys were all baptised today as well. He was presented with a bible and his name tag and welcomed to the church as a new member.
JoAnna and Hannah have gotten involved with the dancers. Hannah sings with the children's choir and they both are dancing. They absolutely love it and have enjoyed being somewhere where they can do what they love. JoAnna realized how much she missed it today.

I have attached the video that the church shot. for more videos and pictures of today and the other Sundays please go to their website. www.asburymemorial.com
Look For JoAnna and Hannah. They are wearing white. I'm in a red shirt rear left of the choir.

Sleepover @ Wormslow

Hannah had a sleepover birthday party she attended at Wormslow Historic Site. Her best friend Jacquelin lives there and so they had a great time playing. When I picked her up, they were climbing trees.
